Competitions

Competitions are held by the club several times a year. Club members are encouraged to enter these competitions as they provide an ideal opportunity to receive feedback on images and have images assessed by qualified South Australian Photographic Federation judges. For club competitions images are awarded a score in the range from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest score.

Club competitions are open to current financial club members. The Competition Secretary sends an email to all current members at least two weeks prior to each competition with details on how to submit images.

Images submitted for competition must meet the criteria defined by the competition. Competitions usually support both ‘Print’ and ‘Digital’ image categories. Print images are displayed and judged as hard copy photographic prints. Digital images are displayed and judged as projected images or via digital screen (such as a computer monitor or television screen). There are also opportunities during the year to participate in inter-club, state, national and international competitions. These competitions are usually assessed by a judging panel and have their own rules and definitions for image submissions.
